We Agree With Harvard: It Takes a Community...
Safety, Santitation and Security

We know that the first priority in your child's daytime care is their overall safety.  You want to be confident that yout child will not be in danger, will not be exposed to constant sickness and is always in a safe atmosphere.  So the Little Island Preschool....

   1.  Anti Virus Recirculation:  We have antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiviral UV lighting inside the air handlers of our infant and toddler classrooms.  This immensely cuts down on the recirculation of germs inturn cutting down sickness.

   2.  Classrooms are cleaned and sanitized at the end of EACH DAY

   3.  We I.D.- We maintain a pick up list for each student.  If a person coming to pick up a child is not listed in the child's file, we will not release that child to that person.  In the event of an emergency, you may authorize someone else to pick up.  However we need authorization.

   4. Security Keypad:  In order to enter the facility you will need to enter your security code at the door.  Anyone without a security code must ring the bell and will be greeted and ID'd by the office staff.

   5. Camera Monitoring:  We have live 24/7 Camera Monitoring in our Guppies Class, Seaturtle class, hallways and playgrounds.  In the event of an incident the cameras can be reviewed and played back.

The Little Island Preschool has been working with Harvard's Early Childhood Division to develop the best program possible.  Harvard believes that great curriculum programming, family and community involvement are the three key elements to an amazing Preschool. So the Island Preschool offers....

     1.  Library Reader: We have a reader from the public library coming to do fun interactive story time with the kids.

     2. Fire Department: The local Fire Department visits once a month to teach the children about fire safety, home safety and what their job is all about.

     3. Volunteer:  We offer several opportunities for parent volunteer opportunities.  Please ask your child's teacher of upcoming events and projects.

     4. Event Celebration:  We host several events each year for families to attend.  Keep an eye out for our yearly Open House, Holiday Recitals, Gymnastics Recitals, PreK Graduations and so much more

     5. Community Outreach:  We want to teach our students everything possible that will make them great members of society.  So our 3-5 year olds take part in community outreach projects.  Understanding that some people are less fortunate and understanding that we should help is key.  So we will donate to toy drives, "adopt" families during the holidays, make art work and cards for the elderly and even share food from our garden with the community.

At the Island Preschool we want to encourage healthy living.  We do this through Yoga, Gymnastics, Sports and serving family style meals.

We serve a Morning Snack, Lunch and an Afternoon Snacks.   We serve balanced meals that meet USDA requirements.  Excess sugar and junk food are kept off of our menus as much as possible.  Obesity, diabetes and heart disease can all begin by children being taught unhealthy dietary practices early in life.

We also teach our students how to grow their own healthy food.  The school will have a Garden on the premises that our 3-5 year olds will help grow and maintain.

Healthy Living

No Hidden Cost

WHY is the Little Island Preschool different from everything else out there?

The Little Island Preschool strives to offer the community "something more".  With exceptional programming, specially tailored curriculum, a healthy meal plan, and no hidden cost the Little Island Preschool could be the perfect fit for your family.

The Little Island Preschool stands by the belief that there should be no hidden cost in your child's education.  Many local school offer gymnastics, soccer, etc BUT they charge extra for those program add ons- on top of costly tuition and yearly Registration Fees.

We charge competitive tuition rates (we are 2nd cheapest on the island).  We charge registration fees ONCE (not yearly).  We offer discounts off of tuition.  And we offer Program Extras at no extra charge.  You child will take part it in the following activities at no extra charge.......

               1. Yoga (Ages 2-5)

               2. Soccer (Ages 2-5)

              3. An Advanced Literacy Program (2-5 year olds)

              4. Learn Spanish- all ages participate in a Spanish Immersion program daily
